Every sheet in March 2007
The same date always regenerates the same five questions, so a sheet you print today is the sheet a classmate prints tomorrow.
- 1st March 2007A histogram class is 5 units wide and contains 12.5 values. Work out the frequency density.
- 2nd March 2007A mass is 210 kg, correct to the nearest 10. Write down the lower bound.
- 3rd March 2007For the curve y = -12/x, work out y when x = 4, and write down the equation of its vertical asymptote.
- 4th March 2007y is inversely proportional to x. When x = 9, y = 48. Work out y when x = 12.
- 5th March 2007A, B and C are points on a circle with centre O. Angle AOC is 124°. Work out angle ABC, where B is on the major arc.
- 6th March 20071 of 7 bulbs in a box are faulty. Two are taken with replacement. Work out the probability at least one is faulty.
- 7th March 2007Four classes in order have frequencies 5, 6, 7, 6. Write down the cumulative frequency at the end of the third class.
- 8th March 2007Write 5^-2 as a fraction.
- 9th March 2007Expand and simplify (x - 4)(x - 4)(x - 4).
- 10th March 2007y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 3, y = 36. Work out y when x = 9.
- 11th March 2007A cone has base radius 4 cm and vertical height 9 cm. Work out its volume, leaving your answer in terms of pi.
- 12th March 200729 students study Spanish and 12 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 13th March 200755 newts are marked and released. Later 21 are caught, of which 7 are marked. Estimate the population.
- 14th March 2007Work out (3 x 10^5) x (9 x 10^5). Give your answer in standard form.
- 15th March 2007Make x the subject of y = 3x^2 - 12.
- 16th March 2007y is directly proportional to x. When x = 2, y = 8. Work out y when x = 13.
- 17th March 2007In triangle ABC, angle A is 62°, angle B is 74° and side a is 7 cm. Use the sine rule to work out side b, to 1 decimal place.
- 18th March 20076 of 9 bulbs in a box are faulty. Two are taken with replacement. Work out the probability at least one is faulty.
