For the curve y = -12/x, work out y when x = -1, and write down the equation of its vertical asymptote.
- 2Writing a Ratio as a Fraction or Linear Function2 marks
x : y = 3 : 5. Write y in terms of x.
- 3Angles in Parallel Lines2 marks
Two parallel lines are crossed by a straight line. One of a pair of alternate angles is 130°. Work out the other, and give a reason.
- 4Probability Trees3 marks
A bag holds 10 red and 2 blue counters. One is taken, replaced, then another is taken. Work out the probability both are red.
- 5Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 6, lower quartile 16, median 24, upper quartile 27 and maximum 33. Work out the interquartile range.
