Make x the subject of y = 2x^2 - 6.
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion3 marks
y is directly proportional to x. When x = 8, y = 56. Work out y when x = 13.
- 3SOHCAHTOA (Trigonometry)3 marks
A right-angled triangle has a hypotenuse of 20 cm and an angle of 60°. Work out the side adjacent to that angle, to 1 decimal place.
- 4Probability Trees3 marks
A bag holds 3 red and 7 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Work out the probability both are red.
- 5Averages from Frequency Tables3 marks
In a survey 6 households own 1 car, 5 own 2 cars and 4 own 3 cars. Work out the mean number of cars, to 2 decimal places.
