Make x the subject of y = 6x^2 - 5.

y is directly proportional to x. When x = 7, y = 42. Work out y when x = 4.

Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 4. The smaller has an area of 12 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.

A biased coin lands on heads with probability 0.1. It is thrown 200 times. How many heads would you expect?
- 5Averages from Frequency Tables3 marks
In a survey 2 households own 1 car, 7 own 2 cars and 8 own 3 cars. Work out the mean number of cars, to 2 decimal places.
