- 1Inequalities on Graphs3 marks
Does the point (-1, -11) satisfy y > x - 5?
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion3 marks
y is directly proportional to x. When x = 8, y = 40. Work out y when x = 6.
- 3Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The smaller has an area of 18 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 4Probability (Higher)3 marks
A biased coin lands on heads with probability 0.4. It is thrown 200 times. How many heads would you expect?
- 5Averages from Frequency Tables2 marks
Grouped data has five classes of width 10, the first being 30 < x <= 40. The frequencies in order are 7, 21, 16, 3, 11. Write down the modal class.
