- 1Writing an Expression2 marks
A rectangle is x cm wide and 6 cm longer than it is wide. Write a simplified expression for its perimeter.
- 2Scale Drawings2 marks
A map has a scale of 1 : 10000. Two villages are 6 cm apart on the map. How far apart are they in real life, in km?
- 3Area and Perimeter3 marks
A trapezium has parallel sides of 14 cm and 21 cm, 12 cm apart. Work out its area.
- 4Probability (Foundation)2 marks
A bag holds 5 red, 7 blue and 8 green counters. One is taken at random. Work out the probability it is red.
- 5Stem and Leaf2 marks
A stem and leaf diagram has a single stem 3 with the leaves 0, 3, 4, 5, 9. Work out the median of the five values.
