- 1Proof of the Circle Theorems2 marks
In a circle theorem proof, a step uses the fact that OA and OB are both radii of the circle, so triangle OAB is isosceles. State the reason being quoted.
- 2Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 7 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 2/7. Work out r.
- 3Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 20 units wide with frequency density 1.5, one 20 units wide with density 3.5. How many values in total?
- 4Bounds3 marks
x = 178 and y = 92, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.
- 5Iteration3 marks
Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (6x(n) + 7) with x(0) = 1. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
