- 1Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 3, y = 81. Work out y when x = 4.
- 2The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 14 cm and 16 cm with an angle of 52° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 5 red, 7 blue and 5 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
- 4Histograms3 marks
On a histogram the bar for 60 < x <= 65 has a frequency density of 1.5. How many values are in that class?
- 5Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 560 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 15 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
