- 1Histograms2 marks
On a histogram, a 4-wide bar and a 16-wide bar have the same frequency density of 1.5. How many more values are in the wider class?
- 2Bounds3 marks
A rectangle is 30 cm by 18 cm, each correct to the nearest cm. Work out the upper bound of its area.
- 3Inverse and Composite Functions3 marks
f(x) = 4x + 3 and g(x) = 6x + 9. Work out fg(2).
- 4Velocity Time Graphs3 marks
A cyclist speeds up steadily from 9 m/s to 24 m/s over 6 seconds. Use the area under the velocity-time graph to find the distance travelled.
- 5Perpendicular Lines and the equation of a tangent3 marks
The point (5, 12) lies on the circle x^2 + y^2 = 169. Work out the gradient of the tangent to the circle at that point.
