- 1Surds3 marks
Expand and simplify (6 + sqrt(3))(6 - sqrt(3)).
- 2Transforming Graphs y=f(x)3 marks
The point (-5, -4) lies on y = f(x). Write down its image on y = f(x) + 4.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 36, y = 54. Work out y when x = 4.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 16 cm and 18 cm with an angle of 50° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 7 red, 3 blue and 5 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
