- 1Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 2, y = 24. Work out y when x = 3.
- 2The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 7 cm and 18 cm with an angle of 36° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 7 red, 6 blue and 2 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
- 4Histograms3 marks
On a histogram the bar for 10 < x <= 30 has a frequency density of 0.4. How many values are in that class?
- 5Bounds3 marks
A rectangle is 5 cm by 15 cm, each correct to the nearest cm. Work out the upper bound of its area.
