- 1Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 5 red and 3 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given the first was red, what is the probability the second is blue?
- 2Histograms3 marks
A histogram has four 10-wide classes from 0, with frequency densities 0.5, 1, 2, 3. Which class contains the median?
- 3Bounds3 marks
A car covers 210 m (to the nearest 10 m) in 2 s (to the nearest second). Work out the lower bound of its speed, to 2 decimal places.
- 4Proof3 marks
Prove that the sum of 3 consecutive integers is always a multiple of 3. State the simplified sum you would use.
- 5Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 9, y = 24. Work out y when x = 36.
