- 1Bounds3 marks
A car covers 290 m (to the nearest 10 m) in 4 s (to the nearest second). Work out the lower bound of its speed, to 2 decimal places.
- 2The Nth Term of a Quadratic Sequence2 marks
A quadratic sequence starts 0, 5, 16, 33. Work out the second difference, and the coefficient of n^2.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 49, y = 42. Work out y when x = 64.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 9 cm and 6 cm and an area of 23.38 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 5 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 3/10. Work out r.
