- 1Bounds3 marks
A rectangle is 8 cm by 12 cm, each correct to the nearest cm. Work out the upper bound of its area.
- 2Quadratic Simultaneous Equations3 marks
Solve x^2 + y^2 = 676 and y = x - 14 simultaneously.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is inversely proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 48. Work out y when x = 4.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 10 cm and 9 cm and an area of 31.82 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 10 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 7/15. Work out r.
