- 1Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 16, y = 16. Work out y when x = 64.
- 2The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 7 cm and 14 cm with an angle of 27° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 4 red, 5 blue and 3 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
- 4Histograms3 marks
A histogram has four 10-wide classes from 0, with frequency densities 1, 0.5, 2, 3. Which class contains the median?
- 5Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 770 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 10 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
