Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (5x(n) + 9) with x(0) = 3. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 200. Work out the positive value of x when y = 32.
- 53d Pythagoras and Trigonometry3 marks
A cuboid measures 7 cm by 14 cm by 10 cm. Work out the length of the longest diagonal inside it, to 1 decimal place.
