Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (10x(n) + 6) with x(0) = 5. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 3, y = 54. Work out y when x = 4.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides 6 cm, 10 cm and 10 cm. Work out the angle opposite the 6 cm side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 8 red and n blue counters. The probability of taking a red is 8/11. Work out n.
