- 1Bounds3 marks
x = 107 and y = 90, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.
- 2Factorising Harder Quadratics3 marks
Solve 6x^2 + 13x + 6 = 0.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 2, y = 24. Work out y when x = 4.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 7 cm and 13 cm and an area of 22.75 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 9 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 1/36. Work out r.
