- 1Surds3 marks
Simplify sqrt(72) + sqrt(2), giving your answer in the form a sqrt(b).
- 2Rearranging Harder Formulae3 marks
Make x the subject of 4x + 3 = y(x + 3).
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 49, y = 63. Work out y when x = 81.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 10 cm and 14 cm and an area of 35.00 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 8 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 5/14. Work out r.
