- 1Bounds3 marks
A car covers 670 m (to the nearest 10 m) in 4 s (to the nearest second). Work out the lower bound of its speed, to 2 decimal places.
- 2Iteration3 marks
Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (6x(n) + 1) with x(0) = 2. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
- 3Velocity Time Graphs2 marks
A train slows steadily from 22 m/s to rest in 10 seconds. Work out its deceleration.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 12 cm and 15 cm and an area of 63.64 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 5 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 1/10. Work out r.
