- 1Proof of the Circle Theorems2 marks
In a circle theorem proof, a step uses the fact that the angle in a semicircle is being proved. State the reason being quoted.
- 2Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 9 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 1/6. Work out r.
- 3Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 10 units wide with frequency density 1.2, one 10 units wide with density 3.5. How many values in total?
- 4Surds3 marks
Expand and simplify (7 + sqrt(11))(7 - sqrt(11)).
- 5Iteration3 marks
Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (10x(n) + 1) with x(0) = 4. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
