Grades 8-9 - exam-stretch algebra, geometry and reasoning.

- 1Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 20 units wide with frequency density 1.2, one 5 units wide with density 1.4. How many values in total?
- 2Surds3 marks
Rationalise the denominator of 18/sqrt(6), giving your answer in its simplest form.
- 3Transforming Graphs y=f(x)3 marks
The point (-3, -3) lies on y = f(x). Write down its image on y = f(x) + 2.
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 4, y = 112. Work out the positive value of x when y = 567.
- 5Proof of the Circle Theorems2 marks
In a circle theorem proof, a step uses the fact that a radius is drawn to the midpoint of a chord. State the reason being quoted.
