Daily Practice - Higher Plus
Grades 8-9 - exam-stretch algebra, geometry and reasoning.

- 1Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 20 units wide with frequency density 1.2, one 5 units wide with density 0.6. How many values in total?
- 2Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 400 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 21 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 3Proof2 marks
In an algebraic proof, how would you write three consecutive even numbers in terms of an integer n?
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 6, y = 288. Work out the positive value of x when y = 288.
- 5Proof of the Circle Theorems2 marks
In a circle theorem proof, a step uses the fact that a radius is drawn to the midpoint of a chord. State the reason being quoted.
