- 1Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 610 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 14 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 2The Nth Term of a Quadratic Sequence2 marks
A quadratic sequence starts 5, 17, 33, 53. Work out the second difference, and the coefficient of n^2.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 49, y = 49. Work out y when x = 16.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 11 cm and 9 cm with an angle of 118° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 6 red, 7 blue and 2 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
