- 1Bounds3 marks
x = 129 and y = 15, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.
- 2Proof3 marks
Prove that the sum of 5 consecutive integers is always a multiple of 5. State the simplified sum you would use.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is inversely proportional to x^2. When x = 2, y = 108. Work out y when x = 6.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides 14 cm, 15 cm and 12 cm. Work out the angle opposite the 14 cm side, to 1 decimal place.
