- 1Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 4 red and 7 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given the first was red, what is the probability the second is blue?
- 2Histograms3 marks
A histogram has four 10-wide classes from 0, with frequency densities 1, 3, 0.5, 2. Which class contains the median?
- 3Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 700 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 12 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 4Proof3 marks
Prove that the sum of 5 consecutive integers is always a multiple of 5. State the simplified sum you would use.
- 5Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 9, y = 21. Work out y when x = 81.
