- 1Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 440 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 14 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 2Proof3 marks
Prove that the sum of 7 consecutive integers is always a multiple of 7. State the simplified sum you would use.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is inversely proportional to x^2. When x = 2, y = 48. Work out y when x = 4.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 16 cm and 16 cm with an angle of 119° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
A bag holds 5 red, 4 blue and 3 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
