Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (8x(n) + 9) with x(0) = 1. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 2, y = 24. Work out y when x = 3.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides 16 cm, 7 cm and 15 cm. Work out the angle opposite the 16 cm side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 4 red and n blue counters. The probability of taking a red is 2/3. Work out n.
