x = 30 and y = 15, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.

Use the iteration x(n+1) = cube root of (10x(n) + 2) with x(0) = 5. Work out x(1) to 3 decimal places.
- 5Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is inversely proportional to x^2. When x = 3, y = 16. Work out y when x = 2.
