A box plot has minimum 10, lower quartile 18, median 26, upper quartile 34 and maximum 42. Work out the interquartile range.
- 2Recurring Decimals to Fractions3 marks
Write the recurring decimal 0.777... as a fraction in its simplest form.
- 3Drawing Other Graphs: Cubic/Reciprocal2 marks
For the curve y = 4/x, work out y when x = -2, and write down the equation of its vertical asymptote.
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 3, y = 18. Work out y when x = 5.
- 5Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar solids have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The larger has a volume of 972 cm^3. Work out the volume of the smaller.
