Work out the discriminant of 4x^2 - x + 3 = 0 and say how many real solutions it has.

y is directly proportional to x. When x = 2, y = 4. Work out y when x = 3.
- 4Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 5. The smaller has an area of 22 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
21 students study Spanish and 12 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
