- 1Parallel and Perpendicular Lines3 marks
Work out the equation of the line parallel to y = 5x + 2 that passes through (1, 16).
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion3 marks
y is directly proportional to x. When x = 5, y = 60. Work out y when x = 15.
- 3SOHCAHTOA (Trigonometry)3 marks
A right-angled triangle has sides 9 cm, 12 cm and 15 cm. Work out the angle opposite the 9 cm side, to 1 decimal place.
- 4Probability Trees3 marks
A bag holds 5 red and 4 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Work out the probability both are red.
- 5Capture Recapture2 marks
A capture-recapture estimate is made of the snail population of a hedgerow. State one assumption the method relies on.
