- 1Capture Recapture2 marks
A capture-recapture estimate is made of the beetle population of a woodland. State one assumption the method relies on.
- 2Fractional and Negative Indices3 marks
Work out 16^(3/2).
- 3Parallel and Perpendicular Lines3 marks
A line has equation y = -5x + 8. Work out the gradient of any line perpendicular to it.
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion3 marks
y is directly proportional to x. When x = 9, y = 99. Work out y when x = 2.
- 5Enlarging with Negative Scale Factors3 marks
The point (-1, 2) is enlarged by scale factor -1 about the centre (-4, 1). Write down the coordinates of the image.
