y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 75. Work out y when x = 8.
- 2Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 4. The smaller has an area of 10 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
21 students study Spanish and 12 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 4Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 10, lower quartile 20, median 24, upper quartile 31 and maximum 36. Work out the interquartile range.
- 5Bounds2 marks
A mass is 600 kg, correct to the nearest 10. Write down the lower bound.
