y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 3, y = 54. Work out y when x = 4.
- 2Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 4. The smaller has an area of 15 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
14 students study Spanish and 3 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 4Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 9, lower quartile 18, median 22, upper quartile 27 and maximum 30. Work out the interquartile range.
- 5Standard Form2 marks
Work out (5 x 10^4) x (5 x 10^-2). Give your answer in standard form.
