y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 100. Work out y when x = 6.
- 2Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 5. The smaller has an area of 15 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
26 students study Spanish and 6 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 4Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 12, lower quartile 14, median 19, upper quartile 23 and maximum 33. Work out the interquartile range.
- 5Recurring Decimals to Fractions3 marks
Write the recurring decimal 0.9090... as a fraction in its simplest form.
