A bill is £624 including VAT at 20%. Work out the amount before VAT.

Work out the discriminant of x^2 - 6x + 11 = 0 and say how many real solutions it has.
- 3Repeated Percentage Change3 marks
A price rises by 10% and then falls by 20%. Work out the overall percentage change, to 2 decimal places.
- 4Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The smaller has an area of 29 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
23 students study Spanish and 3 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
