Work out the discriminant of 2x^2 + 7x + 10 = 0 and say how many real solutions it has.

y is directly proportional to x. When x = 2, y = 22. Work out y when x = 10.
- 4Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The smaller has an area of 27 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
27 students study Spanish and 7 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
