Two similar solids have lengths in the ratio 1 : 2. The larger has a volume of 304 cm^3. Work out the volume of the smaller.

A bag holds 8 red and 4 blue counters. Two are taken without replacement. Work out the probability both are red.

A capture-recapture estimate is made of the newt population of a stream. State one assumption the method relies on.
