y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 4, y = 144. Work out y when x = 7.
- 2Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 4. The smaller has an area of 11 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
27 students study Spanish and 7 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 4Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 14, lower quartile 17, median 25, upper quartile 28 and maximum 37. Work out the interquartile range.
- 5Bounds2 marks
A mass is 32 kg, correct to the nearest whole number. Write down the lower bound.
