y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 125. Work out y when x = 4.
- 2Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The smaller has an area of 25 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 3Conditional Probability3 marks
25 students study Spanish and 11 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
- 4Box Plots2 marks
A box plot has minimum 4, lower quartile 13, median 21, upper quartile 23 and maximum 26. Work out the interquartile range.
- 5The Product Rule for Counting3 marks
A code is 2 letters (A to Z) followed by 2 digits (0 to 9), and repeats are allowed. How many codes are possible?
