Write the recurring decimal 0.111... as a fraction in its simplest form.

Work out the discriminant of 4x^2 + 3x + 12 = 0 and say how many real solutions it has.

y is directly proportional to x. When x = 5, y = 10. Work out y when x = 8.
- 4Similar Shapes (Area and Volume)3 marks
Two similar shapes have lengths in the ratio 1 : 3. The smaller has an area of 22 cm^2. Work out the area of the larger.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
20 students study Spanish and 4 of those also study Art. One Spanish student is picked at random. Work out the probability they study Art.
