- 1Changing the Subject of a Formula3 marks
Make x the subject of y = 5x^2 - 2.
- 2Direct and Inverse Proportion3 marks
y is directly proportional to x. When x = 6, y = 36. Work out y when x = 12.
- 3Angles in Parallel Lines2 marks
Two parallel lines are crossed by a straight line. One of a pair of corresponding angles is 34°. Work out the other, and give a reason.
- 4Probability Trees3 marks
A bag holds 2 red and 8 blue counters. One is taken, replaced, then another is taken. Work out the probability both are red.
- 5Averages from Frequency Tables3 marks
In a survey 7 households own 1 car, 8 own 2 cars and 9 own 3 cars. Work out the mean number of cars, to 2 decimal places.
