- 1Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 870 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 18 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 2Completing the Square3 marks
Write x^2 - 8x + 15 in the form (x + a)^2 + b.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to sqrt(x). When x = 4, y = 8. Work out y when x = 49.
- 4Finding the Area of Any Triangle3 marks
A triangle has sides of 6 cm and 10 cm and an area of 25.98 cm^2. Work out the acute angle between those two sides, to the nearest degree.
- 5Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 10 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 28/45. Work out r.
