- 1Bounds3 marks
x = 91 and y = 13, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.
- 2The Nth Term of a Quadratic Sequence2 marks
A quadratic sequence starts 7, 8, 11, 16. Work out the second difference, and the coefficient of n^2.
- 3Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is inversely proportional to x^2. When x = 5, y = 18. Work out y when x = 3.
- 4The Cosine Rule3 marks
A triangle has sides of 5 cm and 10 cm with an angle of 125° between them. Work out the third side, to 1 decimal place.
- 5Conditional Probability3 marks
