Daily Practice - Higher Plus
Grades 8-9 - exam-stretch algebra, geometry and reasoning.

- 1Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 10 units wide with frequency density 1.2, one 10 units wide with density 1.4. How many values in total?
- 2Bounds3 marks
A rectangle is 12 cm by 25 cm, each correct to the nearest cm. Work out the upper bound of its area.
- 3Transforming Graphs y=f(x)3 marks
The point (-1, 0) lies on y = f(x). Write down its image on y = f(x + 5).
- 4Velocity Time Graphs2 marks
On a velocity-time graph a car speeds up in a straight line from 3 m/s to 27 m/s over 8 seconds. Work out the acceleration.
- 5Perpendicular Lines and the equation of a tangent3 marks
The point (20, 21) lies on the circle x^2 + y^2 = 841. Work out the gradient of the tangent to the circle at that point.
