The point (9, 40) lies on the circle x^2 + y^2 = 1681. Work out the gradient of the tangent to the circle at that point.

A bag holds 5 red, 5 blue and 2 green counters. Two are taken without replacement. Given neither is green, what is the probability both are red?
- 3Histograms3 marks
A histogram has two bars: one 10 units wide with frequency density 2, one 5 units wide with density 1.4. How many values in total?
- 4Bounds3 marks
x = 48 and y = 31, each correct to the nearest whole number. Work out the upper bound of x - y.
- 5Inverse and Composite Functions3 marks
f(x) = 3x - 8 and g(x) = 4x + 9. Work out fg(4).
