- 1Probability Equation Questions3 marks
A bag holds 9 counters, r of them red. Two are taken without replacement and P(both red) = 1/36. Work out r.
- 2Histograms3 marks
On a histogram the bar for 0 < x <= 10 has a frequency density of 0.4. How many values are in that class?
- 3Bounds3 marks
A block has mass 420 g (to the nearest 10 g) and volume 19 cm^3 (to the nearest cm^3). Work out the upper bound of its density, to 2 decimal places.
- 4Proof2 marks
In an algebraic proof, how would you write the next odd number after 2n + 1 in terms of an integer n?
- 5Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^3. When x = 2, y = 24. Work out y when x = 4.
