A car covers 510 m (to the nearest 10 m) in 6 s (to the nearest second). Work out the lower bound of its speed, to 2 decimal places.
- 3Inverse and Composite Functions3 marks
f(x) = 5x + 7 and g(x) = 4x - 8. Work out fg(1).
- 4Direct and Inverse Proportion Depth3 marks
y is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 2, y = 20. Work out the positive value of x when y = 20.
- 5Perpendicular Lines and the equation of a tangent3 marks
The point (7, 24) lies on the circle x^2 + y^2 = 625. Work out the gradient of the tangent to the circle at that point.
