The papers above are scoped by grade band. These are scoped by teaching point instead: each one leaves out content a student at that stage has not met yet, so a mock in the middle of the course tests what has actually been covered.
These bands are a typical teaching order, not a syllabus rule. No exam board defines what belongs to Year 10, and schools sequence the course differently. Check the split against your own scheme of work before using it to decide what a class has covered. Unlike the AS/A2 split, GCSE PE's specification does not say which topics must be covered by the end of Year 10 - this is a scheme-of-work convention that genuinely varies from school to school and even teacher to teacher. Plenty of centres teach socio-cultural influences or sport psychology before finishing physical training, or spread both exam papers across both years instead of blocking Year 10 around one component. I'm least confident about training-methods-data: some schools push use-of-data content into Year 11 alongside exam-skills revision rather than teaching it right after principles of training, so a given school may not have reached it by the end of Year 10. Treat this split as a reasonable default for generating a Year 10 paper, not a description of what any particular school has actually taught by that point.
